A Tribute To Dell

When LorDel Linens began back in 1999, we just couldn’t decide what to name our Business. My husband, Dell suggested we combine the first 3 letters of our first names, Lorraine and Dell. So we became LorDel Linens. After all these years, it still seems like the perfect fit.

As many of you know, Dell passed away in late November, just a few days before Thanksgiving. He had been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis one year earlier, right before our November Craft show in 2015. He always loved visiting with everyone at the craftshows and he still wanted to come that year. At the time, I don’t think he fully realized just how sick he was.

This past year had been a roller coaster of highs and lows for all of us. Dell had to be on oxygen constantly to assist him with his breathing. However, he did not suffer pain, which was such a blessing! He maintained his wonderful sense of humor and a cheerful attitude all the way through.

We were in the process of renovating our garage for our work shop, and he was so excited about that, knowing we would finally have adequate space for work area. He was able to track the progress through its various stages, sometimes just through pictures our sons would share with him. Then, in October, we were able to take him out for a tour of it. It was really special.

Another wonderful milestone, is that we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on October 22nd. As the date approached, we began to wonder if it would happen. God was good to us and gave us a beautiful day together with our family. We would only have one month after that, but we truly tried to enjoy each day and be thankful for the time we were given.

We feel blessed to have the opportunity to work together as a family and continue to grow the business that Dell loved so much. We miss Dell every day and the family is working together to help each other through the grieving process. We sincerely thank each of you who reached out to us during this time with cards, words of encouragement, prayers and support.

May God Bless You!
